The Supreme Court did us a great injustice when they overturned , what many thought was black letter law and allowed corporations to dump money into our election system. We all see the ads and the terrible lying things both parties are saying and bombarding us with using money the courts allowed to enter into the system.
Just when a good bipartisan bill McCain Feingold came into play the courts have once again sided with powerful lobbies and allowed money to talk. This not an issue of free speech. A corporation is not a person. Look it up. A corporation does not die, people do. When a person files a complaint against a corporation for wrongful dismissal as an example, the company is guilty and proves their innocence. Why ? Because corporations have more power than people! So they are not people and therefore should not be treated as people. The Supreme Court took away what was legitimate attempts by both parties to return power to the people and address campaign spending. If all of you folks out there are so out raged about so much stuff THIS ISSUE IS WHAT YOU SHOULD REALLY BE PISSED OFF ABOUT. Because you will never be in control if powerful interests can outspend individuals and have the same rights even though they are not the same thing. This is my election day rant as I am so sick of all the ads that are such lies by all parties and the folks that fund them.
Control the money and then the people will have a real say in politics. If not we will always be faced with a different set of pigs who take over the farm.
