ASHEVILLE! Real Estate Professionals
WELCOME YOU HOME!
Living in Asheville means enjoying a temperate climate. Wikipedia reports" the coldest month's mean temperature to be between -3 °C (26.6 °F) and 18 °C (64.4 °F), and the warmest month to be above 22 °C (71.6 °F); along with either a dry winter- with less than one tenth of the precipitation of the wettest summer month-...or without dry season ... winter months get more than one tenth of the precipitation of the wettest summer month, and summer months get at least 30 mm (1.2 in) per month or more than one third as much the wettest winter month."
Asheville is in the
mountains however, so we enjoy noticeably cooler summer temperatures due to the higher altitude. Traditionally, Asheville's summers, though warm, are not so steaming hot as summers in cities farther east in the state or down the road a piece in Atlanta- (how great is that for my real estate clients who are relocating to Asheville!) average highs peak at 85 °F (29.4 °C) in July. Winters are cool, but not prolonged and freezing cold. (January mean temperature is 36.4 °F (2.4 °C).
Asheville's winters: In the last seven years I can tell you that snowfall has been light to heavy but not sticking around too long. It is more sporadic, usually light, with one or two big snowstorms. In early 2010 I measured 23 inches on my deck...but it only lasted a few days. Long enough for you to enjoy some outdoor fun! Asheville's average seasonal amount of 13.3 inches (34 cm). Freezing rain does come around fairly frequently and it is always good to have supplies on hand...
As a local real estate professional, my advice when it comes to climate and weather is that you may want to look into the benefits of Solar Gain... (see photo) ...and for sure...

Asheville sounds like a great place to live temperature wise... We have such very long winters here in New Hampshire.... I think about 6 weeks of winter would be great! LOL
