Earlier this month I was on a lockout for an eviction at a property in South Sacramento. As I waited in the hot sun with the locksmith we talked about the process of an Unlawful Detainer and the history of this house. It took about 45 days to get this tenant out. Living for free the tenant had plenty of time to save money, move to the next home and start all over. As a property manager I do have a soul. I know situations are tough and I know people go though hard times. But in my job, handing me the keys and saying I can't pay rent I have to move, is a bit different then waiting 45 days for a court order and a lockout to finally leave the place with 5 couches 2 beds and many miscellaneous items.
