Nancy Brunkhorst and her husband started that year building three homes in Phoenix, Arizona. In 1980 she specialized building true territorials, quintessential southwest classics, in Paradise Valley, AZ, a jewel of a community with a quiet country like setting and acre + lots. Nance transformed these 1  acre lots and developed a following building unique custom homes which were in keeping with the climate and natural surroundings. Most of the homes at the time were adobe with a few Spanish Colonials.

So what make a Nance custom built home so unique? Everything! From the start, Nancy worked hand in hand with her designer Jim Rogers to make sure that each and every home was about quality. Nancy pored over the design, looking for new fresh ideas to make her homes something that is timeless as well as extraordinary. A Nance unique custom home has outstanding quality such as the sculptured artisan hand plastered walls, built in niches, arches and built in (seating) bancos. A Nance custom built home is hand made with subtle styling and organic in feeling. Nance in the 1980's used block construction, Vega beams and brick beamed ceilings, satillo floors, lots of covered patios and multiple out door spaces with private courtyards, hand painted tiles, Talavera sinks and featured the prolific use of French doors to complete a smooth transition from exterior to interior. The multiple use of fireplaces tend to be simple, handmade, yet each different.
