Whittier October 2010 Real Estate Sales Numbers - another month of decreasing sales.
Based on figures I pulled from the MLS this morning, there were a total of 88 Residential Real Estate sales in the City of Whittier for the month of October. This is the fifth month of decreasing sales - usually not a big deal as sales figures decrease historically from September through the end of the year. However, looking at the overall sales numbers, October has the lowest sales overall.
Compared to October sales over the past 5 years, October 2010 came in second lowest, with October 2007 being the worst October (64 sales) since 2005 (October 2008 and 2009 sales spurred by first-time-buyer incentives).
The largest amount of Whittier Residential Real Estate (Whittier Homes and Condos) was sold in the price range between $200,000 - $300,000 - a significant shift compared to past months, where the price range between $300,000 - $400,000 accounted for the most sales.
Standard Sales are still the majority of all Whittier Homes and Condo sales, however, the percentage of Standard Sales fell to 50%, compared to 59% last month, while Short Sales increased from 24% to 26%, and REO sales from 17% to 24%.
