53 Comments on Please, don't buy a house right now. It will be so much better for me if you wait!
Great twist on a sales pitch....congrats on the featured post.
Tish, congrats on the feature and I love your humor. Let me know if the reverse psychology works.
Crowd mentality is to do what everyone else is doing and right now, the majority is on the fence. The investors aren't though. They're snapping up the REO's in our market.
Tish,
I totally agree with you. This is not a good time to buy. At least that is what half the looky-loos tell me. And I know they are right because their friend told them that it is true. The friend who has never owned a house...yeah...that one.
No...wait...you were being sarcastic! Oh, me! Fooled again!
HA! A new tactic. You do have to wonder what the wait is about. Until interest rates rise and inventory falls?
Super post, Tish. Right on the money. Congrats on a well deserved feature.
Any reasonable person would have to agree with you. . when you take in consideration the historic low rates in one end and the values of properties in the other. .
There are so many opportunities out there right now for those who can and want to take advantage of them. It is, actually, a very good time to buy.
Debra ~ Thanks. It's either laugh or cry time.
Roger ~ Now, that's cool -- haven't figured out how to do that yet.
Liz & Bill ~ Thx, computer went down last night and I finally gave up fighting with it. This is a nice surprise.
Vickie ~ We can only hope!
Allen ~ Get thee to a bank -- Let's get this ball rolling!
Patrick H. ~ It isn't? Maybe it should be! Thanks.
Samantha ~ It seems to make as much sense as our market right now. . .
Patrick S. ~ Thanks, sort of laughter through tears -- make that sobs!!!
Kirsten ~ Thank you.
Leah ~ Guess we'll just have to see . . .
Fran ~ Hope you're dealing with lots of those investors.
John ~ Oh, my gosh -- that "friend" really gets around -- he knows tons of people here in NC as well. So nice of him to share his expertise!!! So nice, in fact, I think maybe we should give him a going away party!!!
Cheryl ~ I think you got it half right -- it's until interest rates and home prices rise!!!
Debbie ~ Thank you kindly.
Fernando ~ Guess I'm just not getting through to the right ears . . .
Claudette ~ Ah, a voice of reason.
The new voice of reason for those who are unreasonable! Love it!
Gail ~ Shucks, skipped right over you, so sorry! Thanks!!!
Susan ~ We can only try to get the word out there.
Love the humor. Love the post. I'm going to reblog it because I hope, hope, hope some of my fence-sitters read it!!! My husband wants a Hawaiian cruise....
Yep, it pays to be a contrarian -- maybe that's true in our messages to customers, too. Nice job, Tish.
Interesting because I have promoted both buying now and buying later and have said many times to various people....Don't hurry, take your time, there are plenty of homes to choose from. Find one and then buy it...Tish, I still believe that is the way to go. I had one lady who is qualified to purchase in the $200k arena and I let it be known that there is not much to choose from in the area she liked. Perhaps that will change as product floods the market..? Who knows...? Buy now or later...but do buy....
Cara, Thanks for the re-blog! Hope those fence-sitters hurry up and jump!!!
Lottie, My Dad always said I was a bit contrary -- think that's what he meant? Thanks and have a great day!
Richie, Just B-U-Y!!!
All I can say is: HAHAHAHA! Love the reverse psychology...please let me know if it actually works....
Lisa, I promise! That will be right after I do the Boogie Dance!
lol - thanks for the chuckle on a Saturday morning!
Rowena ~ Thanks for stopping by!
