Are You Using NABPOP's BPO Standards and Guidelines When Doing Your BPO's?

If you are not using the NABPOP's Standards and Guidelines when you do your BPO orders, you are working too hard!!!! For those that aren't familiar with this please continue to read on. I guarantee that tips found in this blog will help you in your BPO business.

I am sure that many of you are familiar with NABPOP, National Association of Broker Price Opinion Professionals. This organization is founded by a true visionary and forward-thinking pioneer in the BPO industry, named Michael Ramer of Scottsdale, Arizona.

Back in the day, NABPOP was a competitor for my BPO Manual, but after watching NABPOP grow and blossom I decided to get off my high horse and instead 'tip my hat' to NABPOP. My accredited real estate school called BPO University adopted their BPO Standards and Guidelines in my BPO education and training material on February 24, 2010.

In case you are not familiar with their BPO Standards and Guidelines, I highly recommend taking time to read through it. Click here to download the BPOSG. I advise that people print out the important pages so that they can post them near their computer to glance at the pages when doing a BPO order. The pages I recommend printing out: are the ones with a table explaining the guidelines for range of square feet, year built and location.

After six months of meetings with industry leaders and company representatives from Top BPO companies in the industry, they helped give a face-lift to the original version of the NABPOP BPO Standards and Guidelines.

To date the set of guidelines have gained recognition in the industry and it has been adopted by handfuls of BPO and REO companies so as to have just one set of guidelines or criteria set in place. This accomplishment helps set up a standard in the industry that is so badly needed. In the past, each company would have their own set of guidelines and expectations. You can imagine the learning curve was steep when starting with a new company because they had very specific demands that they wanted in the data that was used in their BPO orders.

So, if you aren't using the BPOSG when you are doing your BPO's you are doing yourself a HUGE disservice. Take 30 minutes out of your day to read through the material. Remember that if you are working for a company that has their own standards and guidelines in place these ALWAYS supersede the NABPOP's BPOSG.

I couldn't be happier for Michael and his organization for achieving this very difficult feat. He deserves major KUDOS and if I ever get a chance to meet him a very nice pat on the back and if he let me a hug along with telling him congratulations.

Although, I have talked to Michael over the phone a few times in the past year I'll look forward to the day when I get a chance to meet him in person.
