Everyone has heard that Spring is a great time to buy a house. The inventory is high, the flowers are blooming, the landscapers are out and the frenzy builds.
All the reasons why people love to buy in the Spring are the reasons that make the Fall an even better time to buy!
Why you ask? Take each of those reasons and flip them around. In the Fall, the inventory is low, the bushes look overgrown and no one has bothered to keep up with the garden. Best of all, there are far fewer buyers out there. It can be a great time for you to buy a wonderful house with favorable terms.
Interest Rates remain low, allowing you to buy a home with a higher loan than you will be able to afford when the rates go back up...and they will. Look at it this way, you can spend XXX now to buy a home or you can spend XXX+Y when the rates up--for the same home.
Many of the houses that are on the market right now have been listed since Labor Day. It is likely the owners are ready to move on to the next phase of their life. If you think the time is right for you to buy a new home, why not make an offer on one of these properties? You might be surprised at their willingness to negotiate and the great value that you can get by purchasing 'off season.'
If you need help finding the perfect home this Fall, I would be happy to help! I can provide you with tools to make the search process easier and get you into your new home quickly.
