One of the things I love about Oregon is even when stuck in traffic photo opportunities present themselves

While sitting on Interstate 205 North bound on the way to my parents house just outside West Linn there is a this amazing viewpoint. This viewpoint can get you some amazing pictures and a break from the traffic that comes to a stop there because of some fools thinking that putting a metered onramp on a hill was a good idea making sure traffic that is going 55 can slow to 25 to let people in because they had to stop for a light at the top of a hill and had to try to get going again.

View of Mt Hood at Sunset

But, still at sunset, sometimes you forget all about the traffic, get out of the car and get a gorgeous shot like this before getting back in and yelling at the idiots at the Oregon Department of Transportation again.

Great shot Todd.  Never get that kind of scenery here in my little corner of Florida.  Then again, we never have traffic jams either.

Like Mt. Rainier in Washington, Mt. Hood can dominate the skyline when the clouds don't obscure it.  Part of why I love living in Oregon.  My wife is driving to Portland today to fly to Reno.  Maybe she'll see the mountain too before the rains return.  Nice picture.

It is a great reminder to give thanks in all circumstances. An adage I have adopted is, "What you choose to focus upon expands." This picture and circumstances around it are a case in point.

What a great view, Todd!  It certainly beats the commute through commercial corridors that most people have!

It's becuse of that traffic planning that you were able to get this great shot. You should send them a copy with a nice thank-you note. :)

I think ODOT planned this one knowing that their traffic plan sucked and so they put a view point right at the point traffic starts to become a standstill for 3 miles.

We're so blessed to live in a beautiful place.  I love that my Subaru windshield and sunroof are my office view.  I am still in awe of how gorgeous the Willamette Valley is even after living here my whole life.
