Just Got an iPad...now what?

I am the very fortunate winner of an iPad. But now what?

Being used to laptops and desktops, Blackberry's, etc. this new tool (which I guess is the craze) is staring back at me, begging me to begin using it I suppose...

I'd like to know from others if they have found innovative ways to use this new fangled thing - besides play music.

Care to send some ideas?

Take it back.  LOL.  I have one too and it is a very fun tool, but because it does not use flash it is very limited.  A lot of the business applications I wanted it for simply do not work.  I did access the tax assessor's office for a client today and that saved a deal. It does come in handy on occasion but I guess the hype was so high that the fall down to reality is rather sharp.

I think missing flash thing is little over talked about.  Right now many websites use flash that will not work on the iPad.  Most of the owners that have those websites already created or working on apps that will work on iPad and other tablet computers.

The first thing you want is to setup your iTunes account if you dont have one and start downloading apps that sounds interesting.  There are many post around here with some great examples.

Bruce,

You need to use the "Search" button on the blue bar and type in "ipad".  I promise you will have more reading material for this coming weekend than you can handle.

Have a great weekend.

Cheers.

Congratulations, I would love to have one, but I know I'd spend hours trying to figure it out!  Best of luck!

Cindy - thanks for your comment. Actually it's pretty intuitive. The time is learning how to use effectively.

Ted - yes the internet is loaded with comments, tips and tricks.

Phil - I'd love to...when I'm done with it ;)

Andrzej - thanks, yes the first thing I had to do is use a computer to set up an iTunes account and then the iPad magically came alive. I found that it's cost effective to use wifi at my office and then my mobile 3G when I am at home or away from the office.

Tni - to be honest, right now, it's not my main business tool but I am slowly discovering neat uses for it.

Thanks everyone - I think I will do another post and call it iPad Newbie Part II
