Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could all go paperless!

Real Estate Agent with The Creig Nothrop Team of Long & Foster

Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could all go paperless!  Just imagine all the trees that we would save.  I have written before about how I am going paperless, but most of this business still hasn't allowed it.  Unfortunately, even though I bought a tablet computer, joined docusign, have a great backup system in place and paid dearly for a great scanner, I cannot get past the paper trail.

My dream is to go out and meet clients with my tablet computer, wireless card & my smile.  No paper to waste.  Quoting Jim Cronin, http://realestatetomato.typepad.com/the_real_estate_tomato/2007/01/going_paperless.html , Can movement towards a paperless transaction establish a heightened, more "visual" awareness to the agent's efforts; efforts that are worthy of praise and moreover, worthy of commission?  I think most of us who love technology, are working in this direction. I would love this.   Right now, the problem is that my broker is still requiring a printed file in the office (I am working on him) and there are still some agents out there that want it on paper!! (I prefer email)  This is definitely coming to an end, but WHEN?  I am prepared to go with this and work out all of the bugs whenever everyone else is ready to go on this.

I am on the east coast. I believe that the west coast is one step ahead of us in regards to technology.  Correct me if I am wrong.  Maybe I need to move west!  ;-D
So, what do you all say?  Can we go paperless?  I'm Ready!

Hi Joyce,  I'm all for saving paper but very doubtful this business is moving towards going paperless.

My broker went paperless about a year ago - most of the agents still use paper but we scan and email everything to the office.
