Did the seller take the TV off the wall and leave ugly wires hanging out? No problem, buy a fake one to replace it! If you're staging a home office or even a kitchen desk area, it's nice to have a fake laptop to stage with. The one I bought from Props by IDM is lightweight and pretty realistic. The "screen" can be changed to black for the "off" look. So if you need a fake TV prop, fake PC computer prop, fake laptop prop, check this company out!

staged home office Props by IDM is located at 1000 Meyer Drive, Crystal Lake, IL 60014. Their toll free # (800)-228-3918. Check out their website and see what they've got.

I bought mine in Chicago while at the IAHSP convention where they had a vendor booth, but you can order what you need. "Most orders are processed and shipped within 2-4 business days. If your order is in a RUSH, there is a $5.00 handling fee. Maximum expected transit time for orders placed in the United States is 5-8 days. Orders shipping to Canada can take up to 10 days."

Their prices are listed on the website, and are reasonable.

The young lady from Props by IDM working the vendor booth was excellent to talk with and a wealth of info. And her Dad was awesome too!

I've been really happy with my fake plasmas. They look so real.  I think I'm going to invest in the laptops next.

Oh I love these, I was just wondering today where I can get these.. I have to admit I think I like the muffins next to the laptop better. This looks amazing. Thanks for the info.

Sue - I've seen fake beds, too. Where would you buy fake beds and/or fake washer/dryer?

Sharon, the fake washer and dryer is from the same company linked in the blog.

Fake bed, hmmm, do you mean a blow up mattress? You can get those in several places, incl K-Mart, Sears, Target or the too-big W place.

Sue...OK how much fake food do you own? I used to go to a place in Hampton(Bill & Ed's ??) that had great fake fruit! I used it in displays for my Cafe's

I got some MP3 players and laptops from another stager. They look great and fun. I didn't realize that they have fake dryer and washer! I gotta to check that out.

Cheers,

Hey Sue,

I recently ordered one of their Plasma's for a living room in a model home. They look great but a 52" was $124 plus shipping and tax. They are the only ones we could find but I thought it was a bit expensive.

Anybody got some great places online etc for fake food and liquid gel?

Do you know where I might find a life-sized cutout of a fake Brad Pitt or George Clooney to help stage the bedroom? ;)

This is wonderful!  I've seen these props before but usually at much higher prices.  Thanks so much!

This looks like a great resource.  It certainly can help a buyer to visualize a space when it is staged properly.

Thanks for the resource. I will check into it. It is time to replace the old fake white desktop (think late 90's style).

Sue ~ I've ordered their 40" plasma TV (which can be wall-mounted or placed on the removable stand it comes with) and they look very good for the money.  Buying 4 at one time gives you a free one!!  My experience with this company is that they have EXCELLENT customer service and are very responsive if you have any problems (one of mine had concealed damage caused by the carrier, and IDM replaced it immediately).

But the funniest comment above is from Susan about where to get a fake George Clooney or Brad Pitt cut out!  Just yesterday, I did a staging consultation in a nice home and there was a life-size cut out of Captain Kirk standing just inside the entry ~ I had to do a double-take!!

I'm checking in - I've been running around myself and busy for many reasons.

I like this laptop look. Did you get the 4 pack special? Not a bad price really but my only concern would be if someone really thinks it's real and decides if it's a vacant "no one cares"? It looks pretty real! Just my thoughts.

Sue, thank you for posting this site.  I will be checking it out.  I love the lap top and we are thinking about the t.v.s.  Am bookmarking and rating a 5.  Now if you don't have one of the t.v.'s to cover the wires - does anyone have another solution?  Betty

Karen, ok they don't that real :)  But they look really good.

Betty, other than the obvious large accessory/artwork I don't know! Maybe Photoshop out the wires??

Sue - I had no idea that you could get fake electronics.  What a great idea, especially the washer and dryer.  Are they heavy?  I love Susan's idea - fake men for bedroom staging.  Just be sure to say "open house for women only!"

Hi Sue,

I love this place too!!! I have their 60' & 4-46' plasma's, I got then in 4 days!! This is such a great place to get props, I didn't know they had washer & dryers, how cool!

You're right, Susan's comment was a hoot :)

Sue,

I use them all the time. I have been using this company for about 12 Years. They can be pricey, but I think it is well worth it.
