I think the fall is a great time for Seniors to look for and buy homes. There grandchildren have gone back to school and they have more time on their hands.  Areas are less congested after the teachers and the school buses are in place.  The weather is hopefully cooler. 55+ Adults are in a time zone opposite of Families with children that need to be in place before the school year. Seniors want to be in place before hard winter sets in and they are thinking of going South.  Also, because many of them have owned their current homes for 30 years or more, they have no current mortgage and can buy non-contingent, which is a magic term in this market of declining home prices.  There are some great deals out there for them.

Good thought, Trish.  Hadn't thought of it in that manner, but you are right.  From now until November, is often a great time for the over '55 crowd.
