I recently started to ask my friends a bazillion questions on how they keep the food costs down in their house. With 3 growing boys in my house, lately my food budget has been outrageous! Many of them told me about the this farmers market in Apache Junction, where the produce was plentiful and prices were exceptional called Superstition Ranch Market.
It’s not technically an open air farmers market, but it is chock full of great produce, candies, honey and other delights. Their actual address is: 7 N. 114th ST, Apache Junction AZ 85220. It is located on the corner of 114th St & Apache Trail which is a main drag in Apache Junction. The major cross streets would be Apache Trail & (just west of) Meridian.
I went on a Wednesday around 9:30am and it had a steady stream of traffic in and out. I would imagine it’s pretty busy on Saturday based on the Wednesday crowd.
My purchase totaled only $9.14. This is what I got:
- 3 Bell Peppers
- 1 pkg Romaine Lettuce
- 6 Ears of Corn
- 2 1/2 lb Gala Apples
- 2 Cucumbers
- 3 Med. Yellow Onions
- 3 lb Bananas
- 1 Head of Iceburg Lettuce
