Latest Dane County inventory data provides a good look at the market

Our October 31st single family home inventory by location report provides a good look at the Dane County market. The graph below is from our report. It shows how inventory tends to be highest in the ring communities located furthest away from Madison.

 

Generally speaking, buyer demand is softer in the communities located closer to the edge of Dane County. In many cases this means properties in these communities will experience more downward pressure on prices than properties located in and around Madison. This is not an absolute rule, but it's a good one for buyers and sellers to be aware of.
