In the aftermath of the recent election, there have been a couple revelations that worry me a little.  Specifically, I'm referring to President Obama's statement that the election was a wake-up call to him, that the American people are concerned with jobs and the economy.

I'm wondering what President Obama thought concerned us on the day before the election.  Did he really think our greatest concerns were our desire for higher health insurance prices?  Did he think America wanted a declaration of war against American business?  Calling the election a wake-up call may be the "Mission accomplished" of the Obama presidency.  It's hard to believe that such a smart guy can say things that dumb.

Although the collective business community may be satisfied with the gridlock that may characterize the next two years, the real estate industry cannot afford to be that patient.  Another two years of nothing will abet the further decline in home prices, sales, and construction that are vital to turning the industry around.  Housing stagnation has been the result of demographic changes, bad lending practices, and overbuilding.  Certain level of correction was inevitable, but the poor job market and a generally slow economy have pushed housing beyond reasonable correction.

Now that he has received his wake-up call, the President needs to stay awake.  He needs to understand that class warfare is bad for all classes, no matter which class prevails.  Yes, jobs and the economy are vital to housing recovery.  I think he is smart enough to know that.  Hope and change are more important now than ever, and I hope he changes.

I love Politics as much as the next guy and DEFINITELY have my viewpoint. :-)

The problem is that whether you are "debating" with an individual who sides with the opposite party or venting to those with the same beliefs, it all ends up the same.....You End Up Frustrated!!

As I hit send on this, I for one will be putting the election and politics to bed....for now.
