TURNPIKE AUTHORITY ELIMINATES ROUTES IN TRIANGLE EXPRESSWAY
SOUTHEAST EXTENSION STUDY
Nov. 4, 2010: RALEIGH--The N.C. Turnpike Authority today announced that three routes being studied for the Southeast Extension project have been eliminated from further consideration. These routes, known as the Blue, Purple and Yellow Corridors will no longer be considered potential routes for the project. They are being eliminated because of high impacts to neighborhoods, community resources, and the natural environment, and because of public input.
Major neighborhoods that would have been impacted by the eliminated routes included Sunset Ridge, Sunset Oaks, Bentwinds and Brookstone.
