So yesterday I shared with you my discovery of how simple it is to generate a QR code for a listing. Its free and takes about a minute. Check out the one that I made:

Today, I'm wondering what I can do with this QR code, and come across this great idea:
You can go to the Zazzle website and order:
- 3" round stickers ($4.95 +S/H buys you 6 stickers)
- 11"x3" rectangle, "bumper"-size sticker ($3.95 + S/H per sticker) -
Just put the stickers on your sign rider, into tube (flat part), and now anyone that drives by your house, can scan the code and get a virtual tour of your listing through their phone (or whatever link you put the QR code too).
Pretty neat huh? I ordered my first set of stickers today, cant wait to get them!
Most of your smart phones, including Android, have apps for to scan the QR Codes for free.
Don't worry, I can help you! Just give me a yell and I'll do everything I can to assist you! :)

Today we played with the QR codes generated off of realbird. I am very worried about the size of the image. The 3.5" x 3.5" seems way too small for most QR scanners. What do you think?
I think the QR codes are going to be big, they're really catching on fast
Kurt--That pretty neat and interesting too. This will big in near future I believe.
Some day they will be asking: Which came first? The QR (code) or the (smart) phone.
Curt, at first I didn't think the QR code would go anywhere, but I see them almost everywhere. An agent in my office had a personal QR code made and printed on the back of her business card. Pretty cool, huh?
Some day visitors to our dead planet will come across the phones and the QR images ...and conclude: The former occupants once had had eyes ...but could not see nor read ....except by using their handheld "eyes".
QR codes are getting more and more attention - with some special sessions at NAR convention! I hope they are here to stay - I need to take a deeper look at it.

Seriously? Don't get me wrong, I love the idea of QR codes, but will people really stop to scan a sign? It will be interesting to see how fast the consumer really adopts this technology. Thanks for the series.
Is it possible to place a QR code on listing, open house and for sale flyers?
QR codes are now being used by seminars also, I went to check into an event and they had on my infor (name tag) this QR code. More innovative uses.
This technology has been around for a while now but its starting to catch on very fast
I'm getting ready to order new business cards, and I think I'm going to put the QR code on the back of my cards. I also think it will be interesting to see how fast this technology catches on with the general public.
@ Leslie,
I think 3.5x3.5 is a pretty large code. Of course it is dependent on the resolution of the phone, and some phones will also struggle with images that are not crisp enough.
But for the current generations of smartphones, I think 3.5x3.5 is large.
Curt,
You can also print codes to Avery labels. Your provider should offer that capability.
I don't know that the consumers in my area are going to make use of QR codes. I've considered putting a few on listing riders and see what happens..
In Santa Fe, NM, QR codes are like something from another planet. I began creating a buzz about them on Monday and by Tuesday I had a customer from my test on a few flyers in a flyer box.
Size is important. Test them out on your smartphone to make sure it works. Also remember to use the mobile version of the site if available when you create the QR code. Now have fun as real estate just changed again.
I definately see the benefits of this technology- it will however take time to catch on here as it has in Japan where 98% of readers are used. It certainly does have it benefits and I am using it.
So many good points everyone, I wish I would have considered the size before I ordered them, I never even thought of that. I love the idea of putting them on the back of my business cards to direct people to my website.
Mike, thanks for the idea on the Avery labels.... Why didnt I think of that??????
I'm a newer agent, and I was wondering if you can explain WHAT a QR Code is and how it works? Thank you!
Welcome to the business (and Probably AR) Raiza. Basically, QR codes are those funny looking squares that I have in my blog. you put your smart phone scanner on it and it will send the person to a website with your information on it. Do a search for QR codes on AR and you will get lots of good info!
