There is an agent in my area that drives a BIG UGLY van that is always parked in her photos.  Or you get a shot of the mirror if she doesn't bother to get out. 

Isn't there a saying  "A photos is worth a 1000 words"  So many agents DO NOT get it. 

What is wrong with agents who take these pictures. The idea is to sell the house, why make it more difficult.

Andrew, I can relate. The joy of photography was passed down from my father.. so was the anal retentiveness. I am amazed on a regular basis looking through our local MLS. We need to realize that these pictures represent the homes we are selling, and some of our photos are making dream homes look like nightmares.

Seriously, it always irks me when I see such poor marketing photos...what could those agents be thinking?

I think the issue comes down to either uneducated agents who seriously don't have a clue on how to market anything, or they just don't give a dam.  As always if any agent approaches me for help with their own photography, I would be glad sit down in person and give them a 101 lesson free (from NY). I'm secure in my business that those who spend money for me to do my voodoo , don't care to nor want to take photos.  All of these photos are between 150k-450k . Photos wont sell your house, but bad photos can keep your property from ever being seen.
