If you are relocating to Alexandria or Pineville, LA, you are moving to a wonderful place!  Alexandria and Pineville are sister cities separated by the Red River.  We are in the geographic center of the state, so if you want a trip to New Orleans for some jazz or beignets, it's only about 3.5 hours away.

The weather is generally nice, although humid, so if you enjoy outdoor activities, you will find them available year round.  Winters are usually relatively mild.  Summers are hot, so air conditioned homes are the norm.   We are far enough inland not to worry too much about hurricanes, as we get mainly wind gusts rather than sustained winds.

Regardless of whether you want to live in a subdivision, in the Garden District older homes (some along brick streets), in a small town, or in a rural area with some acreage, you will never be far from conveniences.  Forget those hour-long morning and afternoon commutes to work!  Traffic is bumper-to-bumper only if there is an automobile accident.

As a relocation specialist, I am sensitive to the stress of making a move.  See my web site at http://margarethickman.clb.mlxchange.com for a number of useful links to help acclimate you to the area.  I have an organized relocation system to help you, so give me a call, respond to this post, or send me an E-mail.  We'll have fun as you get acquainted with central Louisiana, and as we help you find a house.  By the way, the median home price is well below $200,000, but we have houses in all price ranges.

Welcome to central Louisiana!  Hope to hear from you soon.
