Ever seen a dog do this one trick? He "says" I love you, in barking/howling mode. Sweet as can be. That's what you can see when you come stay at Dutch Flat hotel in Dutch Flat, CA.
We had lunch/breakfast here. This first story of the hotel was built in 1852. When you walk in, its amazing. There is a huge fire roaring in the fireplace with 3 tables to eat at, a dining room or you could choose to eat at the old fashioned bar. (we did) I highly recommend the BIG breakfast burrito, so yummy. We split it 3 ways. Be prepared, they do charge for splitting the meal, but totally worth it.
They have re-done all the rooms that you can stay at. The family suite is $150 a night (5 beds in the suite plus your own private bathroom too). Way too cool, sledding & skiing are so close by. The breakfast burrito is included with that nights stay.
"This is probably the coolest place I've ever been too," said my husband. It's like walking back in time. It just happens to be for sale at a whopping $1,450,000. Includes a car too.
After our lovely burrito, we went to the antique store just to check it out. Wonderful lady owns it. She told us a cool story:
Her husband was an organizer, his friend was a mechanic which made a good combination. When they got to town, the 1936 fire truck had all flat tires, firehoses had holes everywhere. Him and his buddy fixed it up and traded for a working firetruck, which was used till Cal Fire took over.
We plan on coming back to stay. Look for the historic landmarker on Highway 80. It's about 1 1/2 miles off the freeway & so worth the trip!!!!!
