I love roses because they simply smell good. If only the bees didn’t like them so much. I also wonder why the plant geneticists can’t breed thornless roses.

This is beautiful!  I, too, love roses - the way they smell and the way they look! Where is this?

Jim - I have been growing roses for 37 years and the bees have been buzzing around me while I garden all these years but somehow so far I have not been bitten by them.  Maybe they know I'm the rose caretaker.  There is one rose that is supposedly thornless.  It is called Zepherine Drouhin.  It is a red beautiful climber.

Wende - This was a fabulous display that the Nashville Rose Society did at a national rose convention of the American Rose Society in Nashville, TN few years ago at Grand Opryland Hotel.
