A Home Stagers Quickie Tips~Vacuum

Home Stager with Redesign Etc. Home Staging Incorporated in TX

"Vacuum"

I thought about calling this series Staging "Duh" tips, because they seem so obvious.  Unfortunately, I see these everyday.  It's hard to assess your whole house, and frankly it's overwhelming for a seller.  That's why it's always a good idea to get another opinion, and a professional home stager will be worth their weight in Gold in this process.

Go over your carpets, rugs and flooring and if possible, your sofa with a vacuum, most have attachments for tile and stairs. This will pick up any debris and pet hair and give your carpet a fluffy look, making it appear fresher and pick up allergens.

Sprinkle some baking soda if you have some odors emitting from the carpet or use Carpet Fresh before vacuuming to help it smell better.

Preferably, you will have had your carpets cleaned, and will not need to do this step.

Hi Cindy,

Sometimes the easiest things are the hardest to do.  I'm not sure why we seem to skip over the obvious, but I agree that a clean floor always helps the house look it's best.

Regards,

Aaron

Cindy, one would think any one selling a home would keep their home clean and vacuumed.  Unfortunately some folks do just the opposite.

Funny how the first comments were all men!  Great tip....no "preparing your house for sale" tip is too small.  Sellers need this advice!

It's such an obvious mistake that some sellers seem to forget about...especially those with pets!
