REAL ESTATE BOOKS, HOW ARE THEY WORKING FOR YOU???

By
Real Estate Agent with Signature Realty Associates
I am currently taking a look at revamping my marketing budget and wanted to ask everyone what there thoughts are on those real estate books that are handed out for free in grocery store.  Though for years I have advertised in them as of late, they seem to have lost their charm.  Any thoughts on where I may better be spending those hard earned marketing dollars?? Thanks!!!

I beleive they work but the buyers do not want to be buyers right now. And those out there are looking first to find that home then they need to sell their place to buy that home. It is a different world right now out there.

One of the agents in our office does this and gets a fair amount of calls off of it.  We have had an ad in the book but nothing was really coming from it so we went with the 1-800 number to advertise this next month which is what the other agent does.  The first ad comes out next week so I will let you know how that one goes.

We also just revamped our website and got it up to speed and I have been putting a lot of time in doing some free advertising via Point2Agent, Craigslist, and a few others.  No marketing dollars envolved other than the time it takes to keep all this up to date.

Being here at AR seems to be helping though with all the other irons I have in the fire it is hard to blog everyday but I have had one AR referral.

Consistency is what seems to work best so I would pick one thing and stick with it for a while and see what happens.

They don't work here in New Jersey.

There were agents who were buying space on a grocery store bulletin board in a very prominent store but from what I have found out, after 2 years of doing it there is no evidence that it has been of any help.

I haven't been able to attach a specific closing directly to the free real estate books, but many of my clients indicate that my presence in the publication had "something" to do with chosing me as their agent.

I've been trying to tie directg results to image advertising, but to no avail. I do however feel that it contributes to my overall client base.

Kind regards,

Sam White

They work if you work them.  Call capture systems, immediate call backs and having it in a reputable publication for longer than 24 months.  Short term plans are a waste of time.

Must be part of a larger strategy.

Why don't you use the FREE SITES or subscribe to Realtor.com?!?!  I use Craigslist, just picked up a buyer this AM from Tennessee!!  I also use AR for my listings, Zillow.com, My website, My outside blog, and Loccalism (AR related).  I've picked up a builder who needs to help clients find land to build their dream homes on!  Cool...  SKIP THE BOOKS!! Go to the ONLINE SOURCES where people are looking more and more daily!!  :-)
