Not sure what HIP TIPZ is?  Please click on Our Introduction to find out more.  Now, let's get down to business -it's time to roll:

HIP TIPZ #186

Protect your wooden desk by having a piece of custom glass cut for the top.  Slide a few mementos under the glass that will make you smile.

HIP TIPZ #187

Five-alarm luxe alert:  For your master suite, have a window valance made from bevelled glass.  Be sure to keep your window treatments plain.

HIP TIPZ #188

Can't get enough of Eames' style?  Check out the Eames chair necklace -also a great gift for the design aficionado in your life that has everything.

HIP TIPZ #189

Faux tin ceiling tiles make a great, inexpensive kitchen backsplash.  Try to avoid areas that are subject to grease splatters.

HIP TIPZ #190

Bring some elegance into your bathroom design.  Convert your antique dresser or buffet into a vanity.

Great tips.

I have used the glass top for an oak desk with a leather surface.

Michelle - I only ever saw it done once.  I think it was "built" by a mirror company.  There was some sort of board behind it with brackets that attached it to the wall.  It's definitely not something I would want to attempt installing myself.  A mirror company could probably point you in the right direction.  Unfortunately, I've never had the opportunity to put this tip into practice .... yet

Brian - Is this desk in the infamous office I've heard about?  It sure sounds nice.

David - Yes it does.  In fact, on a staging consultation I did last year, the homeowners had a gorgeous set of wooden tables with carved appliques, Queen Anne legs .... (don't get me started talking furniture LOL!) Anway, they wanted to sell them because they were downsizing and had way too much furniture.  They had custom glass cut for the tops of each table to protect them.  I bought the set from them with the idea that I would remove the glass when I got them home.  I ended up keeping the glass on them.  You're right, it can look great!
