I was just reading a blog from Carol Williams in regards to
:Beware: Are the Scammers Infiltrating Active Rain?
Well, I just want to tell you that this type of infiltration on the web is running rampant and these types of people are getting away with preying on the innocent and the not so savvy consumer.
In February we put our class A motorhome up for sale. I was amazed at the amount of emails I received from Nigerian Scammers who wanted to buy my motor home.
Here is an example of what was emailed to me.

He replies
Hello,
I have discussed about your car with my client. Before he travelled out for a bussiness trip. My client is from Canada and he has finally accepted your price, he hopes the engine is Serviced.
However, My client made out a certified cashiers check of $47,995 before he travelled for the business trip, the amount on the check he deposited for the car is for the total expenses which includes the purchase of your car, the pick up of the Car from its present location and the shipping charges/other Necessary Shipping
arrangements.
However he has instructed us to carry on with this transaction. So you're required to deduct the cost of your car $39,995 and send the balance of $8,000 to the shipper via moneygram Transfer to enable him offset shipping charges/arrangements. Once the transaction is concluded and the check clears my agent will be coming for the Pick Up of the car from its present location, on an open vehicle and then Drive to a pre-paid shipper for shippment, and also conclude other necessary shipping arrangements. So you don't have to bother yourself about the pick up and shipping arrangements, while title papers and other necessary documents will be sent by you via courier service to my Customer.
Please confirm this and provide name, address and phone number for check payment to be delivered to you via courier service.
Yours truly,
This is just a sample of the many emails I received while trying to sell our motorhome.
Just to let you know the motor home was for sale for $ 23,900.00. when I replied I told him $39,995.00 just to see what he would say.
US Citizens approximately lose $ 2,000,000,000.00 dollars each year to these scammers.
Although I found many of the emails I received humorous, I became concerned because many people were duped by similar emails. There were many people that actually got scammed out of thousands of dollars.
We should all be aware of these types of emails.
I am sure all of you have come across these types of emails.
Unfortunately there are many that have fallen for it.
