“Los Angeles 411” Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Metro Life Homes RS-78439 / BRE #01708344

Come and see the Tournament of Roses Parade on New Years Day in Pasadena, California!

You will get to see the most beautiful floats decorated with roses, flowers and exotic natural materials from around the world.

The very first Tournament of Roses dates back to 1890. It was started by members of the Pasadena Hunt Club. The members were former residents of the East and Midwest and wanted to showcase their new home’s milder winter weather.

For more information regarding the Tournament of Roses parade take a look at this link: http://www.tournamentofroses.com/roseparade/

What better way to show off your hometown’s weather by having a festival and parade of roses, while the parade makes its way down Colorado Blvd!

Ralph ~ Great 'before and after' photos.  My family and I enjoy the Rose Parade as one of our holiday traditions.  Being this close, maybe I ought to go see it live sometime.

Seeing one of these floats up close is an amazing experience - if  you cruise around Pasadena the night before you'll see them pulling up in position and putting the final touches on.  Great early photo!

Love your series Ralph.  Imagine, going to a parade with a top hat, and wearing a suit!  Sometimes, I wish we would return to the days of yesterday.

My family loves the Rose Parade, my sister was actually fortunate to ride on a float from the city of Downey in 1990, it was quite an experience.

Ralph, never miss it.  It is the way to start the New Year.  Have never been, but is on my bucket list.

We watch it always, I have been watching since I was a kid, I actually think I saw that parade in picture #1.

When I saw the top picture, I was going to say that perhaps my mom was sitting there. But, then I saw it was 1893, so maybe not.

I would love to come see the Tournament of Roses Parade and the Super Bowl.  All that I need for that to happen is for Stanford to go to the Super Bowl again.  Last time it was 2000, and we spent the night before at Disneyland, partying like it was 1999!  Next time we want to take in the parade - maybe in 2011?!

For being a SoCal native, you would think I would have experienced this once in my lifetime! But I have never been! Don't people sleep in the streets for days before this thing? I guess I should put this on my bucket list, it is always so fun to watch on TV. I think it is a California "must do" thing as we recover.....

My step-kids camped out on the street... not us.  We went to see the floats up close and personal the day after up on Sierra Madre Blvd.... they park them there after the parade!
