This is what we call an "Industry No-No"!
Recently, Pacific Shores, a brand new housing developement in Huntington Beach, opened its doors. And by all accounts, it's been pretty busy. I've personally taken several clients over, and I have a few more I will be taking by later this week.
While the community will be beautiful, the location is outstanding, and the models are top-notch, what happened this weekend is the stuff that beginners do. There is no excuse for this, and it's going to be tough to blame this one on "teenagers"!
This weekend, a fantastic listing at 8426 Terranova in Huntington Beach was having an open house. A few different agents held it open, and mysteriously, their signs all went missing? Don't worry, they were recovered... sort of...
{picture to come}
I know quite a bit about this listing as I do quite a bit of business with the Listing Agent, Dave MacLeod. And if you know Dave at all, then you know Dave doesn't play this way. They'll be no retaliation, and he'll probably say very little, if anything at all. He's just a good guy.
But for Pacific Shores, to take down open house signs, which agents often pay to have put up, and throw them in your dumpster (by the way, these signs aren't cheap), is about as low as I've seen in quite a while.
I regularly hold Open House near another newer development in Huntington Beach, and my signs have surrounded them. To their credit, I've never lost a sign, a flag, nothing. And nor should I! High school ended a while ago, and they have their own signs up. I don't touch their signs, so why would they touch mine? There's a reciprocal relationship that exists and needs to exist when it comes to advertising, and honestly, this problem doesn't come up as often as you'd think.
But what happened this weekend is bush-league, and fellas, an apology is in order.
