Great Balls of fire Alan..............hope you get rid of it soon!

I've managed to escape illness this fall..at least to this point.  Let's face it, as soon as I hit submit comment, I've doomed myself to get something.  Here goes nothing.

Alan,  Under the weather and still full of "p and V"!!!  "Using protection when I typed it indeed!!!  Hope health returns post haste!!

Feel better soon!  We wouldn't want that nasty bug to take the edge off your P & V (we always said spit and vinegar, it was much nicer, I was told, but who am I to say?)

I visited the pharmacy the other week and right beside me was a little old lady looking at the vast array of cold remedies and sundry throat lozenges.  I knew she was looking for something, so I asked could I help.  She said that she was looking for Fisherman's Friend.  I told her I'd help her look, and to to my surprise there is was, right near the NyQuil in a tin canister similar to the box that the English candy, Altoids are packaged in. There were only two.  I gave her one and she admonished me to get the other.  I did, I said to myself what the heck, maybe she know something I don't.  When I took a lozenge, it was brown, had eucalyptus and licorice as base ingredients, and it worked wonders for my cough, nasal congestion and other cold related symptoms.  Alan, take it from a little old lady, Fisherman's Friend.

Alan....that looks like a crocheted hat with a view from above.....it does look like a crochet stitch and pattern.

Am I close? and I'm sorry you aren't feeling well, perhaps you need to be more careful about who you let in the front door?

Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup

Ingredients

2 tablespoons butter

1 cup chopped onion

1 cup chopped celery

58 ounces canned chicken broth

14.5 ounce can vegetable broth

1 pound chopped cooked chicken breast

3 cups egg noodles

2 cups sliced carrots

1 teaspoon dried basil

1 teaspoon dried oregano

salt and pepper to taste

Directions

In a large pot over medium heat, melt butter. Saute onion and celery in butter until  tender, approximately 5 minutes. Add all other ingredients. Bring to a boil.  Reduce heat and simmer 25 minutes.  Guaranteed to cure what ails you!
