O.K., I'll admit it, I'm an HGTV junkie.
As if I can't get enough of showing houses during my work day as a Realtor, I gotta' go home and turn on Property Virgins or Holmes On Homes, or My First Place, or House Hunters International. And now I've got my wife and youngest daughter hooked, too.
I think it's actually a natural addiction. As a full-time Realtor very little of my time is actually spent touring neighborhoods and viewing homes. As a full-time Realtor most of my time is spent marketing, trying every way I can to initiate and foster relationships with ready, willing, and able buyers and sellers of residential real estate here in Central Virginia.
And I used to tell newly licensed agents the same thing when they answered the "why do you want to get into real estate" question with "because I love looking at houses...".
I absolutely love looking at houses, too. And I love the entire process of working the transaction, from setting up showing routes, writing and negotiating offers, and putting together a tailored closing present for my clients.
But, as I alluded to, I'm really a professional marketer that just happens to show homes. I WISH I had my own show on HGTV, I think that would be a dream. But, until my big break comes, I think I'll be very content working with buyers and sellers, here, in the Charlottesville area of Central Virginia.
