The colors of your home can result in the color of money for you.

Many of us have heard that loud and/or too bright of color choices for the interior and/or exterior can turn off potential buyers.  Those statements are absolutely true and the right color can instantly change the mood of a room.  Contrarily, the wrong color paint can take thousands of dollars of potential equity out of each property.  So the real question is, what color should you paint?  Some say go neutral or all white.  The answer is somewhat more complex that which shade of off-white do I use?  The best answer can only be determined by a review of several items.  The proper questions need to be a function of size of rooms, type of architecture, comparable homes in the area and the colors already in play with furniture, trim color and window treatments.

Certified Staging Professionals, CSP's have specific training in these issues and many times offer a net positive result in maximizing equity with proper color choices alone.  In addition the right color can help draw attention to the room's best attributes, reduce potential eyesores or give the appearance of more space.  If you would like to receive great advice on how to properly choose color or other home staging services in preparing your property for sale, please contact ReStaged2Sell on the Active Rain website.

Interestingly, I used to tell folks to keep everything white or off-white.  Sort of stay neutral.  The last three homes that I just sold, were not neutral at all.  The Buyers really liked all the colors and decorative touches.  I still can't believe how fast those houses were chosen and purchased!  Who knows anymore!!

It's a Good Life!
