Homes For Sale In Ahwatukee are like gems. Finding one gives you the ability to come and live in one of the greatest neighborhoods in the country, or at least that is my opinion :).

First I would like to tell you a little bit about Ahwatukee (pronounced ow-ah-tukee), its geography and history.  The word is said to come from the Crow word Chuuke closely translated to mean "on the other side of the hill" because of our northern border, South Mountain Park.  We are often called the world's largest cul-de-sac because of this and the fact to the south we are bordered by the Gila River Indian Community.  Have no fear; there are easy ways in and out.  Our border to the East is I-10, a thoroughfare that can lead you to anywhere in the country. Ahwatukee is the southern most urban village in the city of Phoenix, as well as one of the most affluent! (Map of Ahwatukee).

Now I would like to tell you all the reasons I love Ahwatukee:

  • The North border is South Mountain Park.  It is the largest City Park in North America. It lends itself to great hiking, biking, trail blazing, horseback riding, and sightseeing.  Many homes have preserve lots so you can own a little piece of the mountain!
  • Restaurants and shopping are abundant.  There are so many wonderful restaurants, groceries, boutiques, cafes, large retailers, movie theater, pubs, and jewelers you never really have to leave The Village if you don't want to!
  • Small Business and the Ahwatukee Chamber of Commerce.  Ahwatukee is home to many successful small business owners.  The Chamber not only helps the businesses succeed but it helps the citizens find great resources available right in their very own community!
  • Weather is amazing in Arizona.  Our summers are hot, but we never shovel sunshine.  From October through May we experience the best temperatures, with an average of about 70 degrees.  While most of the nation is stuck inside we are going to Farmer's Markets, playing in the parks, having picnics, and eating outside on the restaurant patios.  The great thing is if you feel the urge to ski, sled or snowboard, you are a short drive too many winter destinations in our own state!
  • We are a close knit community and because of this neighborly attitude, our businesses thrive, we watch out for each other and help each other, our children feel safe playing outside, and we support events in our community. It is no wonder Money Magazine listed as as one of the best places to live!

If you love these reasons as much as I do, or need more reasons to live in Ahwatukee please call or email me and I will help in any way possible!
