RELIGIONS.....THEIR PURPOSES and.....WHAT YOU ARE GOING TO FIND.....

I grew up in a Jewish/Italian neighborhood in Brooklyn New York. I would attend worship services Friday night and they were something to behold. I was never one for religion, but this ceremony moved me and still does....

JEWISH PROCEDURES

Well, you have to wear a yarmulke which is a beanie type hat. Then, you put on a religious shawl, add one prayer book and you are set to participate. The cantor starts out by singing his readings to the congregation. People follow along and respond accordingly with Amens. People are bowing as they read and some read and agree with fervor....

IT PICKS UP AND MOVES TOWARD INTIMACY

At some point, the Rabbi goes to get the Torah, the 5 books of Moses from the place where it is kept...Now, this is where you get tingly all over. You see this represents the word of God given to Moses and the Hebrews. You pay reverence to this like if God himself was present.

THE CONNECTION AND THE MEANING

They open the hiding place, take out the Torah and begin singing and hugging the scriptures in their appreciation to have it. Grown men race toward it to kiss it and..... add their prayers and worship while the one holding it (a HIGH HONOR) is dancing down the aisles from side to side in joy and harmony. Very satisfying.

THE MAJORITY OF HUMAN BEINGS BELEIVE IN GOD

Over the years, I attended many other forms of religious services. It appears that people all over the world have their way of worshiping and seeking God. The Christian religion is one of them.....There are different denominations for worshiping Christ. I found the Baptists and the Pentecostals to be very forward in their love and zeal for God. One of the things I like the most was their songs of worship. Some of the words are beautiful and the tunes catchy. It is hard to sit still in your seat while in services

THE PURSUING OF GOD IS EVERYWHERE

The Buddhists have a wealth of data in their religion that causes one to reflect on many things. Islam also offers much insight and depth in the pursuit of the Lord and his ways via his prophets and teachers. The Catholic church is faithful to its roots and structures and submits them to you via procedures and rituals all meant to increase your fellowship with God.

WHEREVER YOU GO...GOD IS THERE

Joseph Campbell noticed that all-over the world, in every culture, mankind had religious services designed to call out and give thanks to something greater than themselves. In the end, he concluded that the belief in God is universal and practiced all over the world in different ways

THE PURPOSE OF RELIGION......FIND THE CREATOR

I am grateful to share that I have learned the purpose of religions...any religion and that is to..... lead you to God..a noble and worthy subject and journey to partake in....

I encourage anyone who is looking for answers to continue to ask, seek, inquire, search out and discover those answers and not rest until they do. It is a very satisfying journey and gives life its true meaning.....I am reminded that their are many paths to God....may yours be a fruitful and definitive one......
