~ $220 in Savings this year would pay for a neighborhood BBQ ~
I have had some interesting thoughts about this. If I saved $220 this year I would... sponsor a BBQ for my neighborhood, Highland Pointe in Centennial, Colorado. I would buy all the meat to grill and have my neighbors bring side dishes to share. We could enjoy steaks, burger, brats and hotdogs grilled to order. I can already taste the wonderful food. It's a great way to build a sense of community within my own neighborhood. I have fabulous neighbors with wonderful kids and I would want to share my good fortune with them.
When you get to know your neighbors on a more personal level than just a casual "hello", everyone seems to look out for everyone else. I think the neighborhood becomes a safer place to live. Feeling a sense of community helps to build pride in the neighborhood and a feeling of belonging to something. We all want to feel like we belong to something. If I could be part of that building process, it would mean a great deal to me.
We would have games for the kids to play. I think we could enjoy a potato sack race and a water balloon toss or an egg toss. The kids could safely play in the cul-de-sac and the adults could sit and get to know one another while eating a freshly grilled burger. I could take lots of pictures that I could print on my Kodak printer and make copies for all of my neighbors. I'm sure this BBQ would be a success, so we would plan on having a BBQ every year. I would be able to use my Kodak printer to print off photos every year and we could compare how the kids have grown from year to year. This BBQ would become an annual event.
If I saved $220 this year, I would most definitely plan a neighborhood BBQ! And I would owe it all to Kodak for my saving money on ink. Thanks, Kodak. I'm already envisioning the fun and tasting the fabulous food!
