Redding Veterans Day Activites 2010
Tomorrow is Veterans Day 2010 and there are some amazing events taking place to celebrate and honor local Redding and Shasta County Veterans.
The day starts at 6:00 am at the Redding Flag site on Bechelli Lane. In 2006 the Enterprise Lions Club set out to raise $150,000 as an endowment to be able to pay for replacement flags. As of today they have raised $145,000 and its's hoped that the final $5,000 will be raised this Veterans Day. Drop by the flag site from 6 am to 6pm to buy a cup of coffee and/or make a donation. All proceeds will go to the endowment fund and allow our flag to fly proud over Redding for years to come.
At 8:00 am a Huey Helicopter will land at Mistletoe School and be available for tours until about 9:30 am.
It will then take off and head out to the Veterans Cemetery in Igo. Events at the Igo Veterans Cemetery begin at about 10:00 and will include music, speeches and will feature a fly by from Beale AFB at 10:55 am.
Applebys Restaurant Hilltop Drive will honor our Veterans by giving a free meal to all Veterans and Active Military.
Come out and support our Veterans. Don't forget to stop by the Flag site on North Bechelli. Every dollar counts! Let's raise that final $5,000 this Veterans Day.

We had billions and billions of veterans’ events here in San Diego, but they were all overshadowed by the Carnival Splendor being pulled into bay that morning. Interviewing all the people getting off of the cruise ship, as well as the Carnival staff and company executives, the veterans’ events never had a chance. So sad.
