HAPPY VETERANS DAY - IN HONOR OF MY HUSBAND AND SON

Happy Veterans Day to all the men and women who served and are serving today in our military.

A special mention to my wonderful husband who served 26 years in the Navy and to my son who serves in The Marine Corp today....

"Being Brave does not mean you are not afraid...It means you go anyway"

My husband wrote the following letter to our local newspaper:

On Sept. 24, 2010, My wife and I had the pleasure of watching Ryan, our son (my stepson) graduate from Marine Corps Boot Camp at Parris Island, S.C. It had been a long time since I had felt the pride that comes with such an accomplishment. I watched 450 young boys quickly become not only men, but heros of our country.

Tears filled my eyes, a lump grew in my throat as these young men came to attention. One massive click of the heels, salutes in perfect time, uniforms so crisp a wrinkle could not be found. These young men will soon go on to fight for our freedom that we all enjoy today, yet some take for granted. Ryan may only be my stepson, but to me he is as much of a son as I could have ever wanted.

So please, when you see a member of OUR armed forces give them a simple THANK YOU, they've earned it. May God bless them and the United States of America. "Semper Fi"

In honor of my son I donate $100 for every home I sell to our local Marine Corp League.....

It wasn't easy being a veteran in the Vietnam era. I was spat upon in airports and called names for my service. That is why I am so proud now of how our country treats veterans with honor. I know their sacrifices. Thank you for your sacrifice, I know it can't be easy for you either!

Paul my husband told me stories just like yours.... Hopefully my son will not have to endure the disrespect that so many Americans displayed years ago upon our military troops
