The dune replenishment program is crucial for those of us on the Atlantic Coast to protect our seaside towns!
Many areas now rely on the replenishment programs. The bigger question is the justification of spending taxpayer money on these programs. Too much development has taken place too close to the shores.
Blooming for you.
I have seen a project similar to this in Florida, it is just amazing how they re-build and very important to the local economy in beach towns.
Beautiful photos! Its great to see the dunes are being protected and maintained.
;)
Laura...itis good to be pro-active in times like these. Saves money in the long run.
I'd make that extra walk to get to the Atlantic. Your beaches are beautiful anyway, so a few extra steps on the sand won't bother me.
Carol & Roy - Long Beach Island would be gone if not for these programs.
Roger - The Island is only 2 block wide in that area, so it's not a long walk!
Steve - It's important for the economy, but I think eventually nature will have her way! After all, it's a barrier island.
Betina - How the heck are you girl?? I want Beanitos to eat on the Beach!
William - It's saving rateables!
Craig - Check out the color of the new sand...it's not bleached yeto
Hi Laura:
That's a great program.
LBI certainly needed help after last year's storm.
The ocean is my favorite place in the world! Glad to see restoration after storms!
