To bake or not to bake that is the question...

I am very much looking forward to the Thanksgiving Holiday this year.  We are heading to our family home in Onset, MA, which is right on Onset Bay, a beautiful tranquil spot.

In years past I have spent laborious hours trying to make my own pie crust, peel and core apples, make my own custard etc. All I get is exhausted an aching back and a few mediocre pies ( I am a cook not a baker ).  A few years back my husband and I listed and sold a gorgeous piece of land in North Brookfield, part of Brookfield Orchard, it was there, in their store, that I found the best kept secret in The Brookfields, home made pies.  Now every year I order my holiday pies from them.  They are handmade by little grandmotherly types and they are fabulous! No one  would guess I didn't make them as they are not "perfect" store bought versions of old classics like pecan, mince, squash, custard and of course apple. If you find yourself too busy or just dis inclined to pie making this year check them out at http://www.brookfieldorchardsonline.com/ there is still time to order.

Lisa, I love to bake but pies are not my thing.  No struggle here...I'm all for ordering pies!  Happy Thanksgiving!
