Tip #1

Be free to ask the inspector about drainage around the home.  Ask if gutters and downspouts are present and functional, proper grading around the foundation is in place and trees and shrubbery are planted far enough away from the foundation.  A good inspector can give tips on how to maintain a moisture free basement or crawl space.
