My Idea On How To Deal With This Or Any Other Market!

Do you work hard?  I don't!  I never want to work hard again.  I work persistent, but I can't say I'm a workaholic.  I put in hours, even when I'm not 'Putting in Hours.'  When I die, they won't say Jason Sardi was a hard worker, they'll say I lived hard.  I know this now because I have an 'In' with God.  God loves me, I think!  I do this cause I love it.  Through the uncertainity, through the chaos, through the good times & bad, I can honestly say I adore what I do for a living.  Believe me, it isn't because of the money.  In 6+ years in this industry, I would of made more coin being a prostitute for any other cause.  I have no regrets though, I love this.  Because of Active-Rain, I fell in love with it all over again...

I first joined this forum in the very fruits of its beginning.  I dare say that I was one of the first.  I didn't become Active until later, yet it was to become a destiny & epiphany all unto itself.  Adam asked, I'll answer now.  Because of Active-Rain, I fell in love.....all freaking over again.

On Active-Rain I've met and am meeting some great people.  It makes me wonder where they were for the past 31 years of my existence.  But this isn't about that, because its about somebody else I loved and adored.  The love and adoration of loss.

I lost a gal because of my committment to writing on this forum.  Love to me, is never conditional.  I lost my life because I like writing too much, on this forum.  Nobody will ever change me!  If you can't live like you write, what good is writing?  It's like teaching and not being able to be the student.  I want to live & lose, and write what is on my skull every step of that way.  That was lost along the way, I have learned to live with that notion.  I lost, which leads me to being able to love again.

Because of Active-Rain, I fell in love with my chosen profession....all over again.  I also fell in love with life, because I encountered those who chose to share that same adulation.  Because of Active-Rain, I fell in love with living and knowing that I will always be tested & probed & prodded until I give in.  Yet, I'll never give in and that is where Active-Rain comes into play, I fell in love with my purpose to this strange world all over again.

That is Because I answer Why....

Did you read my mind?!? I've been through a really tough summer and I was about to throw in the towel a couple of weeks ago. If it werent for ActiveRain, I probably would have. It helps me connect outside my own little world and realize, things are great, this is a great business and I do love it. Thanks or summing it all up in this great post.

Jason... interesting.... I love what I do also... and Active Rain even made me appreciate what I do even more, in so many ways. But as of today, the wind has been let out of my sails.  I have lost blogging at this point and I am besides myself. Long story and I guess I am semi venting.

But getting back to what we do.... we both love it, both during the good or even during the bad times. I just love helping people and educating them.  Good post...

Hey Chrissy - I don't read minds, I only interpret them.  Sounds like you are the type of person we need in this industry!  Stay alive, breath deep, you'll be fine if this is your notion.

An interesting post Jason. I would agree with the trade off. I was cautioned to love only that which has a capacity to love you back. There was wisdom in that. Material things and abstract things can't love you back. So don't love material or abstract things. Money can't love you back so don't fall in love with it and on and on.
I love ActiveRain to, not in the abstract but in the realization that beyond all the words are real people. These real people can and do love you back so I guess to fall in love here is Ok to do. But a non intimate love can not replace your need to be fulfilled and realized in a personal one on one way.
Maybe you can have both. Hopefully so.

Belonger - Bro, call me man.  Vent away, my speciality is listening and interpreting.  I've sensed things in your writings lately, I don't mean to sound like an A$$ here, but let's talk.  You are too good to let other things bring you down.  Geez, I sound like Dr. Freaking Phil, but the wind is still blowing....

William - If there was ever a soul I'd love to talk to live & in person, it may just be you.  I get misunderstood at times in what I write (my lack of communication factors I'm sure) yet I want what I can't have.  Love is never conditional William, never!  I have purpose because of people like you.....

I can totally relate with caring so much for the AR community, and you write some of the best posts with some great writing skills keep it up.

Jeff- I am sorry to hear your AR flu.  I hope you will continue to write some great posts.  I have learned so much from your posts and feel we all can help each other.  keep up the good fight.

Lil Bro....I doubt you have lack of communication skills or factors. Semantics at its best.... lol!

Listen to William lil bro...he has great in depth meaning when he writes...and true to his words...literally. You have different writing but you are far from loving work or "stuff"....that is not your nature. You're searching for something and have not found it. Stop searching and let it fall in your lap. Whatever falls in your lap will be your reward for letting it come....

Okay...how was that for deep...you know you're an addict to writing for the same a lot of us are. Expressing ourselves. And gee is it fun and educational and surely keeps the mind stimulated. (I don't drink)

Jason Dahling, I agree with Sally and William, but I have to add my two cents here (of course).  I don't think that you lost a gal because of your writing commitment or your AR addiction.  I think you just didn't find the right girl.  If you find that special one, you'll be more addicted to her than AR.

BUT WITH THAT BEING SAID...listen carefully here, this is the important part...  If you're using AR as an escape and you're not putting yourself out there (for whatever reason, prior hurts or ??) then you need to tame the addiction.

A  virtual life is nice, but a real life is sooo much  better.  You CAN have both in harmony.  It's all about BALANCE!!!!  It takes work and a commitment to balance your life.

Do you understand?

ActiveRain NEWSFLASH!!!

Longstanding ActiveRain blogger Jason Sardi became the first member to 'Fall in Love' on the popular real estate network. Mr. Sardi had been dating other professions off and on throughout his career, but commitment always seemed illusive. It wasn't until he took a cruise on the AR Blog Boat of Love, that the feelings for his current occupation truly deepened. The two lovebirds will be honeymooning this weekend while attending the Affordable Mortgage Lending Seminar hosted by Fannie Mae at the Holiday Inn Holidome near Lehigh Valley Int'l Airport. Our Best Wishes to the newlywed couple!

Man, Jason, what a tease of a headline!!

I was hoping to read my first-ever, "I met this incredible woman here on Active Rain.   After exchanging complex, yet organized, thoughts on my busy mortgage business and her thriving real estate business, we connected spritually and just had to meet....."  You get the idea.

I guess I will still have to wait for that post.   You know its coming, if I havent already missed it.

I think I love Rich Jacobson.  That was the funniest comment I've read today!  OK, I just started, but that one's going to be hard to beat.

Jason, Tracey's right.  She wasn't the right girl.  Love isn't conditional, as you said, but someday there's going to be a girl that makes you want to compromise a little.  That's not changing yourself, that's working together.

I'm not going Dr. Phil on you.  MWA!!!

Lil Sis - My lap is an open pasture, let things fall as they may.  You can be deep my dear and are always stimulating.

Rondel - If that is the case, I hope I don't have to sleep on the couch:-)  Adam Waldman's contest was kind of the inspiration for all of this.

Ray - Balance & moderation are key.  I'm not good at either, but I know the drill.

Marlene - I have many goals in this lifetime.  Two of them seem simple and are in no particular order.  One, to meet William Johnson.  Two, to meet Marlene Bridges!

Fran - I'm bad at juggling myself.

Tracey - Comprehendo amiga.  Virtual life is cool, but I've always and will always appreciate and love real life better.  You are a wise soul and I love that 'dahling' bit:-)

Rich - First off, that was one of the funnier comments I've ever saw on any thread.  It was even funnier than your comment on the one sentence post that was so very freaking profound (inside joke folks).  It is a different kind of market out there, and the AR Blog Boat of Love will help us sail the seas with ease.  Just ask AR if they are willing to pay for the Hotel Room.

Aaron - Yep, I'm a stickler for the art of misdirection and marketing headlines.  That article you mention is coming, but not from me....at least I don't think:-)

Thesa -  I figured you would my dear, I figured you would.

Sarah - Agreed on Rich's comment.  And you love everybody by the way!  That is part of the reason you are the heart of this place.  No going Dr. Phil on me!

Missy - It's amazing the people I've met here and their reactions to good old me, I never would of thunk it.

Tracey - Thank you, Thank you, Thank you very much!  I'm sure they/we have a wireless connection there but get a rebate on the gift certificates for Yocco's and just get me a Russian Bride.  It's that 'Just in Case it don't work out' present:-)

Chris - Yes, Al & I are on good terms again.

Jason,   two of my favourite Matt Groening quotes come to mind after reading your heartfelt post.....

Love is like racing across the frozen tundra on a snowmobile which flips over, trapping you underneath. At night, the ice-weasels come.~Matt Groening

There's an empty spot I've always had inside me. I tried to fill it with family, religion, community service, but those were dead ends! I think this chair is the answer.~ Matt Groening

The metaphorical and many invisible layers nature of your writing digs under a person's skin cells.......

Neal - I'll take the pigtails out of my hair then, I thought we had something darn it.  Does this mean I don't get roses the 14th of Feb 2008?

Diane - It's unreal sometimes to think that people appreciate brutal honesty and transparency like you seem to do.  What's more unreal is the talent I see who enjoys me.  You are a major talent, thank you.

Jo - Wow, and I thought I was deep.  Loved the Matt Groening quotes you cited, especially the latter!

Carney - Where is Chuck Woolery when we need him?  I loved Rich's observation, freaking classic!!  As far as this piece, I'll settle for J.D. Sallinger or Julia A. Moore for that matter.

Jason...

I should probably fess up...Before Blog Boy (Broker Bryant) and I found AR I was somewhat bored with our Company.

I had the..."Same deal...Different Day...With a twist"...Syndrome.

Once I started on this site my interest in our Company went through the AR roof :)

AR has helped to spark the life back into me and helped us to see the different paths that were open to us.

Some day I will write a blog about all of that :)

It's true Rich, but with a mug like that, he can get away with it.

Here's the recipe, Jason~   Don't consume the whole batch at one sitting...and they are better after they've aged a few days :

Grannyda's Pickled Eggs.

24 small eggs boiled appox. 20 minutes

4 1/2 cups vinegar

1 cup water

5 tbsps sugar

garlic powder or garlic cloves

red pepper

Boil and simmer all ingredients 10 minutes & pour over eggs. Seal and refrigerate.

(you need one of those giant jars for these....you know the kind)

Jason,

We let go of our blow up dolls when we found  AR. Wasn't even a choice. Then we found all of you, and some of the real characters hereunto, and we haven't looked back. Sold the redhead inflatable in a yard sale, and the blond one missed the sale because of a busted air escape valve. She, if an air bag has gender, couldn't stop squealing.

Seriously, now, this is a great post. We are seriously having a great time with this, and learning leaps and bounds from all of you. We've had an hell of an excellent, extremely tiring week, and the foolishness above just popped out.

Paco - I guess you are alive.  Ok, this is a toughie and you know why.  I won't totally disagree with you, though believe me...those days are gone.  I was on a 'hiatus' if you will from that 'obsession' and found out a lot during that time.  If I could write a poem to explain to you, well, I already have.  Yet, nothing speaks louder than actions...I wish I could speak again to you.  MWA!

Fire it up Rob!  I can take it, ya know:-)

Ray - That mask would come in handy on 'Dates'.

You do the same Brad.  Witty you are there chap:-)  You do make me grin!

Kathy - Good analogy and you are probably right on the marriage thing.

Jason - I came over here to tell you I think I love you..... there.

What is "MWA"?  I just wanna know!

Since Neal will be too cheap to get you roses on Feb. 14, 2008, maybe you can plant those pickled eggs like they're bulbs and see what grows from those......  maybe?

Sarah used to be sweet ;-)

Ditto Ann, Ditto!  MWA is a cyber-kiss.  I'll see what I can do about the pickled eggs, that's next weekend's project.  Neal is such a player:-)

It certainly gives you a new way to think about real estate and a forum to learn from some great people out there and always "ouch" a reminder there are mean people.

Yvette - There are mean people, people will be people.  We are an interesting breed:-)  You are right Yvette, we can learn a lot from a bunch of people on here.

Sometimes we feel like the "lone ranger" or (lone agent?) out there, even when we have an office community. AR is a great source for swapping stories and getting help. It's a great resource!

Thanks Donna, it is amazing how this forum opens up one's ability to meet and get to know a wide variety of people.

Ok Cooper, let's get this straight.  No tsking or Hmpfing on my posts!  You are sweet, there, I said it!

Excellent James, let us know as things progress.  Congrats!!!

Very true Al.  Not too many people can truly handle being alone...

Lisa & Robert - I would like to admit here, that the grace on any post I write is typically because of the commentary itself, not the written words I write.  I appreciate the fact that this seemed to strike a cord with people, I also appreciate the fact that I'm a person...I write accordingly.  Thank you!!!

AR is new to me, but I don't know if it can be called a honeymoon quite yet, maybe just an infatuation.  In either case maybe I will buy AR a room soon and see if I can make magic.

Take care!

Jason, I'm with BB, too mushy. Is that what it takes to win this challenge?

I hope not. I've still got time to get in.

JASON:  Great job on this entry.  Perhaps the most poignant quote of the whole competition for me was "if you can't live like you write, what good is writing?"  This is so true, and something that we should all aspire to.  Lately I've been doing the living and then writing about it afterwards.  I'm not sure that I've ever fallen out of love with the profession, but Active Rain has surely made it much more enjoyable.  Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to read your writing and for our good-natured sparring session on your blog.  You know what was missing from your entry....but that's ok.  I really enjoyed it anyway.  If only I could find a way to read more of your very well-written postings.....hmmm.....I guess I'll find them somehow :-).
