Nearly Speechless Sunday: Kitty Playpen

Real Estate Agent with Transaction Alliance 513.520.5305 www.LizTour.com SAL.2002007747

It has been a strange November for weather here!  The leaves have all turned, most have fallen, yet we're getting the benefit of some gorgeous daytime weather.  Temperatures flirting with the high 60s and low 70s at their peak.

So as long as the weather is good, our rescued kitties (aka The Feline Management Team) get to enjoy the benefits of a little outdoor exercise in their 28 x 40 ft enclosure (complete with roof netting to keep the bad things out and them in!

Hope you're enjoying the weekend!

P.S.  Despite apparent evidence above, we love dogs too!  We're temporarily dogless, but expect that to change eventually!

Diane, You got the names right.  He's actually got both paws on the link fence...Sage would whack him if he put a paw on her head :)

Will, It helps them to get their exercise, and some of them almost demand to go out!

BLiz - What a great little playpen for your fur babies; they look so curious too.  Just curious, do you have a snake fence that goes at least 18in down?  We had to have one of those put into our yard because our home backs up to open space where there are all kinds of critters and wild life.  So far, the only problem we have had in the seven years here are two incidents with two different gopher families.

Donne, No snake fence here.  Really nothing poisonous seen here...and any small snake that enters the pen does so at their own risk...several have become ghosts as a results of making a wrong turn at Albuquerque and crawling into the pen!

So do they come in at night?  I have two kitty's (Oreo and Bella) and love love did I say love cats.  Mine go out during the day and play in the backyard chasing squirrels (really disgusting when they caught one) and they come in at night.

Weather has been amazing.  We raked last weekend (I use the term we lightly...hubby did 95%) and today; looks like we never touched the yard...all covered again!

Cindy, They're mostly garage and laundry room kitties.  Always in at night, they only get the cat run when the weather is good.

We blew off the leaves Monday night, I'm hoping we're done!

AWWW, too cute!    My two come out onto the back deck, and do not leave.    They feel safe sitting on the chairs, or under the table.    It is nice when they can get out to get some fresh air!

Bliz ~ we can all tell that you are concerned for their well-being with that large exercise pen.  They must appreciate the freedom you allow them and the safety that they feel while enjoying it!

Bill and Liz---So nice to hear your story.  I was happy to find it all right here in your comments after seeing the pictures.  We have five dogs, four cats and some fish.  Cats all rescue and dogs all but one.  One of our cats showed up at our door a very young expectant mother.  That was about ten years ago.  Like everyone else said, I love the confined area you have for them to exercise and get some fresh air.  They look happy and grateful!!

Dawn, They motor around the run and have a blast!

Pat, When they first showed up at the top of our driveway late on a Sunday night, starving, ear mites galore and pretty grungy.  Got them fed & off to the vet for care the next day.  We compare the "as found" pictures to now..you'd never know it was the same cats.

Michelle, They have a blast.  There's a couple of them that practically demand to go out when the weather's good.  They'll go to the back door, look out at the pen and meow over and over :)

Donna, We're in no hurry for snow, despite having the snowblower in the garage for the first time...managed to avoid it prior, but conceding my shoveling shoulder isn't what it used to be!  Bill

Jane...shhhh...don't tell anyone, but there's actually 10 total counting the 7 above.  We HAVE hit our final limit....not taking on any more.  We got found again about a year later...another mom cat and her litter.  We were able to give one of the kittens to Liz's parents in Maryland.  The other three hang out in the garage pretty much full time.  Clan A doesn't always like Clan B, so it's like the fox, the goose and the sack of corn puzzle, have to know who's with who to avoid major spats.  Bill
