We love the idea: saving Marin's golf courses from geese droppings and letting Border Collies do what they do best - herd! So many people give up great Collies because they think the dogs have too much energy or are uncontrollable. Not true. They just need something to do!
We just rented a gorgeous home in Peacock Estates on the golf course (www.632biscayne.com) and the owner lamented about the geese. Hey, problem solved.
Now we just need someone here to open this franchise!
Wow, Darcy, never heard of this before, but what a unique idea! A neighborhood I lived in in South Florida years ago had herds (is that what they're called?) of peacocks roaming the streets, and boy, were they messy. We didn't have corgis (also herding dogs) at the time, but maybe should have! Our poor mutt was terrified of the birds, who regularly sat atop our fence (at 40+ pounds) and taunted him. Then there was the female who laid eggs and nested with young in our lanai. Why didn't I take pictures!?!
