My name is Christopher Ohlsen. I am new to activerain.com and I am excited to be a part of such a fantastic community. I have been in the mortgage industry since October 2005. It really is amazing how much has changed since I first got involved with the mortgage business. For a good portion of the time I spent in the industry I helped people with poor credit reestablish their cerdit and create a plan to get out of debt for good. Now the markets have changed and lenders are no longer offering such a wide array of mortgage loan products. The days of foreclosure bailout, 1 day seasoning on a BK, 500 credit score borrowers etc... are gone. Although I can no longer offer some of the very "niche'" products that were once available I am still able to help people and thats what this career is really about. It is crucial to treat your borrowers with respect and integrety. Noone wants to spend their time chasing down internet leads and cold calling random people. So it is absolutely essential that you work in your clients best interest all of the time. You may make less per loan file, but you will find yourself working with borrowers that you like and you will find repeat business from return clients and referrals. Again I am happy to be here and I will be posting details of scenario's that I encounter right here on activerain.com.
