I added another serendipity to my list at the "MAGICAL NIGHT OF GIVING" - an annual event for which charities sell tickets to the Johnson City Mall's spectacular Sunday evening of specials, musical groups, etc. Not the usual rush - everyone was in a good mood and from the looks of the bags of stuff, our local economy is doing okay.
As I got out of the car, a lady tapped on my window and asked if I wanted one of her extra tickets. I thanked her and told her I had mine already. As we walked toward the entrance, I opened my purse and there was NOT the calender to which I'd attached my ticket. She laughed and gave me one after all. Come to find out, she was mother of one of the students of the Academy of Strings, who happened to be performing at another entrance of Penneys.
I'd have missed their performance this evening if I hadn't stumbled on that lady. It was special, as always, and a good-size crowd found that better than shopping.
The owners of the Academy are neighbors and good friends, and I'd bought tickets from them when the parents came with their two sweet kids who gave me a brief private concert. (Their charity is a volunteer program the Academy does, teaching violin to kids in a school where otherwise they wouldn't have that privilege
I bought four CDs of the Academy of Strings Christmas program for only $4.99 each. They're an incredibly talented group of young people and I've gone to several of their concerts. Their website is www.AcademyofStrings.com and if you mention my name, maybeTim would sell you some for that special price. I need to see what else they have available.
I'll get more of their CDs later - great gifts of the kind I try to stockpile for unexpected occasions.
Serendipities are everywhere. I need to add several to my site. See www.TNTriCitiesHomes.com/RestOfTheStory .
