Your Burning Desires Come True

tas_gold_key_flickrDuring this time of setting goals for next year, assessing where you are on this years goals and closing all those loops, how are you feeling?  Are you feeling the same passion for your goals as when you first wrote them down?  Your passion and your emotion on a daily basis of a key component to what you will attain.  You can’t just say you want something, you have to REALLY DESIRE that thing, what ever it is.

Think back to a time when you were really ON!  When everything you did just turned out perfectly.  How did that feel?  Pretty great didn’t it.  Now think back before that event happened.  How did you feel about it before you accomplished it.  Did you just hope something would happen?  I doubt it.  tas_goals_postits_flickrI bet you were feeling it happening even before it happened. That is why people say they are in “the zone” when they are accomplishing, or when an athlete breaks a record they describe it as being easy.  It was easy not because breaking a record is easy, but because the passion for doing it is so burning within you that when you finally accomplish it you have already lived it in your mind a thousand times.  That is the point.  Feel your goals, live them in your mind daily.  Don’t just write something down on a piece of paper and look at it occasionally.  Look at it often, allow yourself to get emotionally and because of that emotion, physically involved. That is the key.

tas_heine_full_goalsI set out, when I changed my marketing career to focus fully on the real estate industry, to bring all my talent, focus, determination and skills to this industry.  I am winding down my first year and can say I have created a wonderful spot for myself with a top agency around a group of high producing professionals.  I went through the fire this year in an agency that was not working at this level and it kept me from achieving the financial goal I have set, but there is still time and I still feel this goal in the pit of my stomach and up through my chest each and every day.

Get passionate about what you are doing and allow yourself to be fully engaged, what do you have to loose?

"I listen for a living." It's all about you.

@Carol, you are so right and it makes so much sense. The more we think about something the more that thing occupies our time.  Of course we should be thinking about all things positive and progressive. Thanks for your comment.

@Paula, You go girl!  The hard part is not saying these word sporadically, the harder part is living it when things are going sideways.  Stay focused and find a great thought that can bring you back to your main goal.

@Chuck you are so right. Passion rules your actions and your actions rule your results.  It is simple math. Thanks for your comment.

@Ron thanks for stopping by regularly Ron.  If you are not setting goals that scare you a bit, then your goal is not high enough. Stretch for the sky and you will land further than just standing on your tippy toes.

@Paula,  I loaded Top Producer into my computer yesterday and am ready to rock and roll with my 1500 or so names.  By the way I am now 3.5 weeks into my 6 week program we discussed without a day missed.  It is growing inside me the way you said it would, thank you.

@Wayne, I am such a believer of bringing the passion to the work.  The scary part for me is when the passion slips into the negative (every emotion has it's opposite).  When I find myself there I quickly realize it and shout "NEXT!"  Yes, I literally say it out loud so that I know I am resonating with the wrong passion.  I have surprised my wife, dog and office mates with the utterance, but that in itself is funny and breaks the spell.
