During this time of setting goals for next year, assessing where you are on this years goals and closing all those loops, how are you feeling? Are you feeling the same passion for your goals as when you first wrote them down? Your passion and your emotion on a daily basis of a key component to what you will attain. You can’t just say you want something, you have to REALLY DESIRE that thing, what ever it is.
Think back to a time when you were really ON! When everything you did just turned out perfectly. How did that feel? Pretty great didn’t it. Now think back before that event happened. How did you feel about it before you accomplished it. Did you just hope something would happen? I doubt it. I bet you were feeling it happening even before it happened. That is why people say they are in “the zone” when they are accomplishing, or when an athlete breaks a record they describe it as being easy. It was easy not because breaking a record is easy, but because the passion for doing it is so burning within you that when you finally accomplish it you have already lived it in your mind a thousand times. That is the point. Feel your goals, live them in your mind daily. Don’t just write something down on a piece of paper and look at it occasionally. Look at it often, allow yourself to get emotionally and because of that emotion, physically involved. That is the key.
I set out, when I changed my marketing career to focus fully on the real estate industry, to bring all my talent, focus, determination and skills to this industry. I am winding down my first year and can say I have created a wonderful spot for myself with a top agency around a group of high producing professionals. I went through the fire this year in an agency that was not working at this level and it kept me from achieving the financial goal I have set, but there is still time and I still feel this goal in the pit of my stomach and up through my chest each and every day.
Get passionate about what you are doing and allow yourself to be fully engaged, what do you have to loose?
