Southampton New York...a beautiful place to Invest, Live and Visit!

This post was inspired by a number of things and I wanted to get right on it so I would not lose valuable insight that I gained from my post yesterday--"BEST PLACES TO LIVE IN SOUTHAMPTON NEW YORK....." This was written after I found a blog page on the front page of Google saying it was too expensive to live in Southampton! I wanted to counter any negative information with all the positive that I could bring up.

So, here is another post inspired by Ellen Caruso from a comment on that post....the tag line is hers and I want to credit her for it!

BEAUTIFUL SOUTHAMPTON NEW YORK

The population of Southampton has grown about 50% since 2001--the young families who felt terribly insecure in the aftermath of 9/11 left Dad in the City and moved here to their summer home. They put their kids in local schools here and never looked back! This has affected the infrastructure to the extent that we have a constant construction going on to keep the roads in good repair and to expand the schools so that they can accommodate the added number of pupils.

LAKE AGAWAM PARK AND PLAYGROUND

In the center of the beautiful Village of Southampton is the Lake Agawam Park and Playground. Here is where most young families find themselves after they are tired of the ocean and want to just play. The WWII monument in the distance is a perfect example of a Corinthian Column edifice and has been there since the 1950's. Want a day of music and just plain fun??? This is where you will find it! The Village just added some very special new playground equipment and opened a whole new addition to the park for these new swings, "Jungle Gyms", slides and a variety of other pieces that bring screams of laughter and joy from those who use them! On a summer weekend, you will find bands and other entertainers performing here....on Wednesday nights throughout the summer there is an organized concert in the park. These concerts vary from rock to country to classical and many other venues.

Ocean Side Lawn

STEPS TO THE DUNES AND THE OCEANThe beauty of Southampton outshines all the other Hamlets. Through the years and even centuries, the loving care of meadow and heath have given it a sculpted appearance. The earth is turned and manicured in such a way that the eye catches just the right amount of light and interprets it as a landscape masterpiece. A perfect pallet is the result; varying from pastel to primary colors, the feeling that you are looking at a piece of artwork prevails.....the landscape is the canvas and the reflective light is the medium for this wondrous display. Little wonder that the worlds most famous artists found their way here at the height of the Impressionistic Period and still come here even to this day.

Estates of all sizes exist here...from the more affordable 1/3 acre compound to the huge 10 acre estates, this is the place where buyers strive to live. It is a goal now, with prices at their lowest in 5 years, for those who could not afford to buy here in '06--'09, to take advantage of an opportunity to buy in this very popular place. Sales are up year over year and prices are holding their low levels and in some cases, going even lower. New construction is the one bright spot especially in Southampton Village. Here, the builders are buying up older houses in prime locations like the Little Plains neighborhood and tearing them down to build brand new, larger houses. This area is famous for it's proximity to the village center and the ocean...they are equal distance from almost every street and those are the streets the smart builders want to own property on.

Southampton Village on a summer day!

So, if anyone tries to tell you that Southampton New York is too expensive to live in--just remember this: Prices are down between 20-30% since the height of the market. Property values have lost almost the entire gain they made over the last 5 years! Interest rates are lower than they have been since the 1950s!!!  NOW IS THE BEST TIME TO BUY in Southampton!!!

Norma: Thanks! I need to rebut that guy's statement--I went  back to see the page again and to take down names etc...now I can't find it again--but it was right there on the first page of Google and it hit me right between the eyes! So, it may appear again but I hope it is gone!

Ellen: You are so encouraging and inspiring! I need that to keep me on the track with this "campaign" of mine. I don't think it is reasonable to think that masses of people will want to live here--but it is certainly reasonable to inform those who do, of the facts! Thank you for everything!
