John Quincy Adams

"Posterity-You will never know how much it has cost my generation to preserve your freedom.  I hope you will make good use of it."

 John Quincy Adams - July 4, 1837

It was recently Veterans Day...  Younger generations never had to deal with the country...  THEIR country fighting for THEIR freedoms.  So it would seem that some may take the whole idea for granted.

So you might think the younger generations may not know the prices that were paid for our freedoms, and how there are those that wish to take it away...  This was the life and lives that our founding fathers lived.

So today's motivational Monday, is to remind us all to not take for granted the individual freedoms that we have today.

I hope everyone has a great Monday!  (This post in no way is a political post, or having anything to do with politics.  Just a historical post.  Most of you know, that I wanted to be a High School History Teacher, but ended in in Real Estate - And loving it!)

:)

Chris, Too much of us don't know our history, and that's too bad.  There's much to be known that's worth knowing.  Get the feeling if the founding fathers were wandering around today they'd be kicking some people in the behinds??

Chris ... JQ was a second generation founder ... and at this time we still didn't have professional politicians running the country.  Maybe that's why these folks had memorable things to say .... founded on the principles of "public service" not "public employment."  Oops ... did I just get politically motivational?

Chris--I had not read anywhere that you wanted to be a history teacher!  Teachers do make good realtors, or so they say (I was a Montessori Teacher).  Never met anyone who did not love history, but most of us don't know as much about it as we would like!  So now you have the best of both worlds---selling houses and teaching history!  Keep it coming Chris!!
