Another Fortune 500 Company, SPX Committed to Expand, Creating 180 New Jobs in Charlotte NC
Charlotte NC Job Update: NC Governor, Beverly Perdue, announced today that SPX Corporation, a Fortune 500 company, plans to invest $70 million to expand its operations and global headquarters in Charlotte, resulting in the creation of 180 new jobs in NC over the next five years. SPX is a leading provider of engineered products and technologies to customers in global energy infrastructure, processing equipment which serves the food and beverage industry, and diagnostic tools for vehicle servicing and repair. SPX Corporation has operations in more than 35 countries.

Kearney. “We are extremely grateful to the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce, Governor Perdue and her staff, Charlotte Mayor Anthony Foxx, and the Mecklenburg County Commission for their invaluable assistance and support of SPX’s future expansion plans."
SPX will be moving into a new global headquarters building in Ballantyne Corporate Park in South Charlotte. This new headquarters will house the current 252 employees as well as an additional 180 new positions. SPX plans to move into a newly constructed office building in Ballantyne Corporate Park by the end of 2012. The overall average wage for these new positions is expected to be $82,917 a year, not including benefits.

Charlotte has a highly skilled workforce, an affordable cost of living and our airport is the gateway to the world.
