Dogtoberfest in Dunedin, Florida where the Wiener Races are!

Dogtoberfest was held for the 3rd year in Dunedin, Florida at Highland Park. The event is run by the Suncoast Animal Shelter and they host the Guinness attempt for "Most Dogs in Costumed Attire".

Also, there was the blessing of the animals, a king and queen were crowned, and the 3rd Annual Running of the Wieners and a yodeling contest. There were rescue groups with adoptables, music, food, and vendors selling dog-friendly merchandise.

Eveyone loves the wiener races; those little legs going and the ears flying, at least some of them. Some wieners just wandered around sniffing and wondering what they were supposed to be doing :)

Great post. I love the photo slide show. It looks like a great event. We  have Woofstock here in the Keys. I guess it is a similar event. You gotta love Florida in the winter!

We used to have a wiener dog and before he passed we would race the big neighbor dogs and he would nip at their feet to win the race, it was so funny.
