A poignant story

 The Sneeze

They walked in tandem,  each of the ninety-two students filing into the  already crowded auditorium. With their rich  maroon gowns flowing and the traditional caps,  they looked almost as grown up as they  felt.

Dads swallowed hard  behind broad smiles, and Moms freely brushed  away tears.

This class would NOT  pray during the commencements, not by choice,  but because of a recent court ruling prohibiting  it.

The principal and  several students were careful to stay within the  guidelines allowed by the ruling. They gave  inspirational and challenging speeches, but no  one mentioned divine guidance and no one asked  for blessings on the graduates or their  families.

The speeches were nice,  but they were routine until the final speech  received a standing  ovation.

A solitary student  walked proudly to the microphone. He stood still  and silent for just a moment, and then, it  happened.

All 92 students, every  single one of them, suddenly SNEEZED  !!!!

The student on stage  simply looked at the audience and  said,

'GOD BLESS  YOU'

And he walked off the  stage...

The audience exploded  into applause. This graduating class had found a  unique way to invoke God's blessing on their  future with or without the court's  approval.

Isn't this a wonderful  story? Pass it on to all your  friends.........and

GOD BLESS  YOU!!!!

This is a true story; it  happened at Eastern Shore District High School  in Musquodoboit Harbour, Nova  Scotia.

I  hope this goes around Canada..and the  USA....and the rest of the world!!!

I received this from my mom today, and like to check things out if possible before passing it on.  This story has been changed, but, per snopes, there was a similar incident involving the ACLU and a lawsuit.

Not that snopes is always right, but the whole story is so relevant.

Juli where there is a will there is a way, I find it interesting how  the government is trying to get involved in every aspect of our lives....why  doesn't the goveernment focus on real crime, gang members etc......

Per Snopes, the "original" story had one student speaker sneeze into the microphone and the entire class said "God bless you" in unison.  Either way, I agree with you, Joni, it's a good story.

Not a real person

My only concern is whose God he was asking blessings from? Maybe he was a Muslim…. I’m just saying.

Thanks, Russel.  But, I'm just saying that everyone should be free to do what he or she believes in as long as it's legal and doesn't hurt anyone.  If 91 students felt they wanted to honor "God", to be told by 2 people who filed a law suit trying to ban it is what's wrong with this picture, IMHO."

GOD BLESS YOU! for posting this! Maybe we should reprint all of our money that everyone so freely spends without thinking twice about it saying "IN GOD WE TRUST".

LOL, Stephanie - I'm sure the ACLU has tried to make that happen.
